Make Ahead Breakfast Smoothies

by - January 31, 2019

Trying to get my kid to sit down and eat any kind of green-colored foods is hopeless. She will refuse them all, even if it is a green grape or green piece of candy. I think it’s safe to assume she hates the color green! As I look back on the times my daughter was an infant, one of her favorite foods was always the ones that had pureed greens in them; such as the green beans + spinach + pears or the apples + kale + avocado, but as soon as she turned one she was not having any of that green stuff we call vegetables. Unfortunately, the only vegetable I can get her to eat now is corn.

One morning before workI started to prep myself a spinach and banana smoothie for my breakfast. Once I turned on the blender and poured the contents into a glass, she noticed she did not have what momwas about to have and started throwing a fit. I then poured some into a cup for her and I was shocked she was about to take a sip for the damn thing was very green and loaded with spinach. I just assumed as soon as she noticed it and took a sip she would make that cute little scrunched-up face and not want any more. But something happened that almost knocked me off my chair, she loved it and was drinking every last sip. After she finished all of hers I just ended up giving all the rest to her, while I didn’t get any. That’s just the story of my life, but I was just thrilled and amazed that my daughter was eating a leafy green for once! ✋👍👏🤭So I’m sure you're now aware that smoothies have become a staple in our home for its one of the very few ways that I can get my kid her vegetable intake. It's safe to say that I celebrate by shaking my ass and dancing around the room like an idiot after she finishes up the smoothies I have made her. I get extremely enthusiastic about my triumph of deceiving my daughter into eating something she thought she despised, haha!
